SmartAVI manufactures splitters and extenders for video, audio, IR control, XVGA, DVI for PC, and ADC for MAC up to 1000 feet from the host source with no loss of signal to remote devices using CAT5 cables. SmartAVI DVI extenders can extend any DVI-I signal up to 500 feet with a single CAT5 cable, while retaining perfectly clear, crisp image resolutions of up to 1600 x 1200 and up to 10 km over fiber optics including keyboard, mouse and audio. The DVX500 KVM extender is all about breaking away from the traditional model of attaching a new display device to a DVI graphic source. Using the DVX500 KVM extender, you can remotely locate your monitor, keyboard and mouse located up to 140 meters away from your CPU. Wherever long distance usage is encountered, e.g. airports, industrial plants, call centers or distributed computer centers, the DVX500 KVM extender is the best way to solve all problems in remotely locating your console. Four different types of extenders are available: single head and dual head devices for PS2 keyboard/mouse and single and dual head devices for USB keyboard/mouse. A DVI CAT5 KVM extender is primarily used to extend the maximum distance between a CPU and its keyboard / monitor / mouse. In addition, they are irrecoverable in installations in electromagnetic hazardous environments (EMI). Normal keyboard / monitor / mouse extender cables (and extenders using traditional cables) cannot extend as far and EMI interferences may reduce the maximum distance and/or reliability.
